Dear MadNorSki Community,
As the temperatures drop and we prepare for another exciting winter season, the Board and I would like to both reflect and celebrate the accomplishments of our club over the past few years – as well as ask for your support in ensuring our continued success.
Impactful Growth: Madnorski continues to expand programs, offering year-round activities for all ages and abilities including Nordic walking, Training Meetup groups, Trail Women programs and ski weekends, the Up Up and Away Rollerski Race, and summer youth training programs and camps. We’ve also seen the Elver Park Trail Run grow into an increasingly popular event as one of the area’s most affordable trail runs. This year, roughly 300 runners and walkers participated – raising over $5,000 while showcasing the beauty of our trails and ski community.
Certified Excellence: This year we were honored to be given the Bronze Club Award from US Ski and Snowboard, ranking us in the top 20% of clubs nationwide. This recognition is a testament to our ongoing dedication to improving and growing the club for our members.
Our Need for Support: Club memberships, race events, program fees, and fundraisers like the ski swap account for about 70% of our budget, but it is not enough. We rely on donations to make up just over 30% of our annual General Club budget.
Thanks to our members’ generosity! You answered our call to action and we were able to raise funds last spring for a new snowmobile and groomer. This winter, we are excited to have two groomers working the trails together which will increase efficiency, safety, and the overall experience for everyone.
Help Us Reach Our Goal: We’ve already raised nearly $6,000 toward our 2024-25 fundraising goal, thanks to the incredible response from the many donations given with membership renewals. We now need your help to raise the second half of our goal so that we can continue to offer top-notch programs, maintain our trails, and keep our club going strong.
Please consider making a donation today. Your support, at any level, makes a significant difference in keeping Madnorski thriving for years to come. If you are considering a longer-term impact, please know that we also welcome planned giving, which ensures that your legacy supports future generations of nordic skiers and outdoor enthusiasts.
You are a vital part of our club’s success – thank you for being an invaluable and integral part of our Madison Nordic skiing community!
Warm regards (and think snow!),
Carrie Eaton
