Trail Condition

Rolled trails this evening, grooming for skate only scheduled to be completed by 1-2 PM Thursday, expect soft conditions. The snow is very light lacking moisture.

Our plan is to groom all trails tomorrow early morning (Thursday, February 13), including the golf course, using a pull-behind groomer for skating. We will also attempt to set a classic track. Rock hard surface and icy again. The only good stretch yesterday from the machine shed to Hill 5 was compressed and ruined today. Not sure what is going on. I know they have the equipment and knowledge to make a great surface to ski. They have done it before. But they continue to create an …

Groomed skating and redid some of the classic tracks.

Good considering the snow drought Winter. Tracks are thin in spots. But nothing serious. Good kick, especially on the powerlines. Lots of people having fun. Many familiar faces out there. Hopefully we’ll get some fresh snow later this week. Fingers crossed.

Looks like a lot of skiers using the loops. Groomed with the Gator for skating and added new classic tracks.

Skate deck was pretty choppy which I guess is good birkie practice. Classic tracks were hit and miss around the loop. Still better than not skiing!! Thank you groomers and CXC.

All in all pretty good. There are spots with soft, deep, ground up ice. Very little bare ice. Some dirty areas where wind and the lack of natural snow has blown in debris. Chip and Yuriy are doing a great job of keeping CXC skiable in our snowless winter! Thanks!
