Trail Condition

Blue Mound SP

The big ice patch @ the bottom of the Minix Trail is likely the result of the creek/drainage backing up. Definitely a hazard that needs to be treated carefully. The other 99% of the trail is fine, though the tracks are worn & need regrooming.

University Ridge Golf Course

We groomed before the sun went down Friday night. Bucky's Pass has been re-tracked but skate skiing on Bucky's is not advisable. The deck is firm but thin on all skate trails. Skate skiers should access the Zimmer Loops by taking Arthur's Alley (#10). Open 9-5pm tomorrow. We will try to groom trails again on …

Blue Mound SP

Only skied in trax which were fine. In regards to the previous report: The ice is at the bottom of the Yellow trail. Since then they have put up warning cones and a Stop sign, which is suggested to obey. There is a smaller ice patch, a bit further up though not as serious, but …

Elver Park

Despite high hopes for a weekend of fun on Elver's trails there just isn't enough snow. A determined skier COULD turn several laps but putting the groomer on the trail would do more harm then good.

Monona Golf Course

I skied Maple Bluff Golf Course but could not find rhe nane on this website. Today it was skow but nixe skating tracks. Sone damage feom dog walkers but stilk a nice ski.

CXC Outdoor Rec Center

Golf course trails holding up well as of 1pm. Thin spots getting thinner, still many excellent stretches. Thank you Chip for all of the quality grooming and making your reports

Governor Nelson SP

Skied late afternoon 2/20 classic. Some bare spots, a rock poking through in the middle of one of the tree areas up on the hill, tracks are there from skiers, but washed out in quite a few areas. There is some debris in various areas. With warm temps coming the bare spots in the open …

Governor Nelson SP

Since the previous report there are now trax, thanx to enough previous skiers, that makes it easy and a quick glide.

McCarthy Park

McCarthy Park is still skiable, hope to have it open for Saturday & Sunday. Most likely when temps hit 32deg the trails will be done very quickly. We are shoveling in some dirt spots or grooming around them. The one problem area is the climb by the sledding hill is near grass on the top …

Elver Park

Machine grooming has kept the trails firm & fun, but turned some areas into a dirt slalom challenge. Of course we need more snow, though forecast makes that unlikely. A team of volunteers could also do some shoveling to cover thin spots/groomer skid marks. Future MadNorSki-coordinated project in years to come? Thanks for the wonderful, …
