We understand that some skiers have concerns about trail conditions and snowmaking, and we truly appreciate your feedback. While our goal is to provide the best possible experience, it's important to note that snowmaking and grooming man-made snow are quite expensive operations. Trail fees cover only about 50% of the actual costs. To keep the trail passes affordable for everyone, we rely heavily on dedicated volunteers who assist with snowmaking and grooming, as well as on donations to bridge the gap.
This is a community-driven project, and snowmaking has been essential in ensuring that youth programs like MadNorSki have a place to ski when there is natural snow. Without snowmaking, local cross-country skiing opportunities would be significantly limited.
