We finished pushing snow onto the Upper Field Trail yesterday and groomed all trails with manmade snow this morning at 6 AM for both classic and skate skiing. The Upper Field Trail now has two-way traffic patterns. All other trails will continue to follow the same counterclockwise direction of travel.

As of today, the total distance of the snowmaking loop is approximately 1.7 km. The loop is considered easy to intermediate, depending on the direction of travel on the Upper Field Trail. Clockwise travel would be rated as easy, while counterclockwise travel would be intermediate.

If you ski the Upper Field Trail in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions, combined with the remaining section of the snowmaking loop, you’ll have a 2.5 km trail offering a fun variety of terrain.

If you ski continuously on the loop, the total elevation gain over 5 km is about 300 feet. For comparison, the Birkie 51 km trail averages 440 feet of elevation gain per 5 km. Based on the terrain, the current snowmaking loop is classified as intermediate but primarily easy in terms of technical elements.

We were unable to make snow last night due to warm temperatures, but we plan to start snowmaking tonight in the open area in front of the parking lot. Please be sure to stay clear of snowmaking equipment for your safety.

Enjoy the trails!
