Madnorski at “Ride the Drive”

What is Ride the Drive? It’s thousands of happy healthy people coming together to experience parks and open streets in a single, one-day, free, community event. Since the inaugural Ride the Drive in 2009, this event continues to celebrate Madison’s commitment to a healthy, active lifestyle focusing on the environmental and economic impacts and the importance of social integration. Ride the Drive, organized by the City of Madison Parks Division, is more than 4 miles of city streets closed to motor vehicles and park hubs along the way offering activities, food and fun for all ages.

Madnorski shares the commitment to a healthy, active lifestyle and will be at Olin Park as a exhibitor telling others about our club, programs, and events.  We will be exhibiting various Nordic sports:

  • rollerskiing–showing the difference between classic and skate rollerskis
  • Nordic walking–how to use Nordic walking poles and the health benefits
  • Nordic skiing–telling about our programs and club membership

All Madnorskiers are invited to come rollerski, bike, or Nordic stride the Drive – we wiil begin to gather around at 10 am at the Madnorski tent at Olin Park where you can grab a muffin and meet others.  We will start the ride at 10:30 am.
